Have you ever wondered what its like to be a Angel?

Some have written literary works concerning this very subject matter. Such as in the case of Melton's, "Paradise Lost," and a few others, that I feel, just further confuses the masses on the whole matter of God and his Angels. They do this, by suggesting that a great war broke out in the Heavens, over pride and jealously, on the part of Lucifer and his rebel Angels.

The text in question, are in fact derived from: { Revelation 12 1.) - And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: 2.) - And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. 3.) - And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.

4.) - And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. 5.) - And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.

6.) - And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there, a thousand two hundred and threescore days. 7.) - And there was war in heaven: Michael and his Angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his Angels, 8.) - And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. 9.) - And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the Earth, and his Angels were cast out with him. }.

And of course in the book of Isaiah 14:12-15 "How art thou fallen from heaven O day-star, son of the morning! (Helel ben Shahar) How art thou cast down to the ground, That didst cast lots over the nations! And thou saidst in thy heart: 'I will ascend into heaven, Above the stars of God (El) Will I exalt my throne; And I will sit upon the mount of meeting, In the uttermost parts of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds;

I will be like the Most High (Elyon).' Yet thou shalt be brought down to the nether-world, To the uttermost parts of the pit." Like any good book of fantasy, these stories that were derived from the bible itself, are full of heroes and villains fighting savagely against one and the other. It makes for good reading, I would surmise. These works also involve the human race. They place us at the very center of this heavenly conflict as the prize, to either the malevolent, or benevolent forces, in the end as the winner, would decide either our total salvation, or total destruction.

Let me first address what it says in : { Revelation 12 1. concerning the Red Dragon. This was basically an astrological event, that had taken place at the beginning of the Old Testament, some time about six thousand years ago. Pertaining to the constellation of Draco, or Dragon, as we know it by today. At the time of this proven astrological event, this revelation many ancient peoples running scared. For the sole reasoning, that they thought that the world was coming to a end.

Hence, just were unaware apparently, that the Earth was still noticeably growing, and changing, in dimension and rotation, as a young planet. When the Earth shifted on its axis, over about two feet two the right and back about one foot, it gave the appearance that the stars in the Heavens were falling to the Earth. In the Eastern skies, the constellation of Draco, would have been most prevalent. It would have appeared to the ancient Shepard's, that a Dragon, was in fact, falling from the sky and coming to devour them.

The early church fathers and scholars, took full advantage of this colossal event, by rendering a brief story concerning why the Dragon had fallen from the sky to the Earth below, by explaining to the common folk, that evil had fallen to the Earth. Now, everyone needed them more then ever. Plus, this gave the learned, or Elders of the villages, a viable explanation for these events. As a result of this, they came off as rather impressive to the common folk, and thus, securing their prominence in the local governments.

In Christian tradition, this passage is proof for the fall of Lucifer. However, it may be that this passage, is an illusion to a Canaanite or Phoenician myth about Helel, the son of the god, Shahar. Helel sought the throne of the chief god, and was cast down into the abyss because of this. El, Elyon, and Shahar are members of the Canaanite pantheon. While the "mount of meeting" is the abode of the gods, which corresponds to Mount Olympus, in Greek mythology.

There is an Ugaritic poem about two divine children, Shachar (dawn) and Shalim (dusk), who were born as the result of the intercourse of the god El, with mortal women. There are, however, no Canaanite sources that tell about Helel ben Shahar, or a revolt against Elyon. Many Apocalyptic writers, interpreted this passage as referring to Lucifer, and wrote about the fall of the Angels. 1- Enoch refers to the falling Angels as stars (and may be the beginning of the overlap between the story of the watchers and Isaiah. The name 'Lucifer' means light-bearer, and is not used in the New Testament, where the "bearer of light" is Christ. He was once one of the Seraphim (sometimes called the fiery, flying serpents).

Later authors, such as St. Jerome, associate Ezekiel 28:13-15 with Lucifer, the greatest of the fallen Angels. It has been argued that this passage was actually addressed to Nebuchadrezzar the King of Babylon. [You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your adornment: Carnelian, chrysolite, and amethyst; Beryl, lapis lazuli, and jasper; Sapphire, turquoise, and emerald; And gold beautifully wrought for you, Mined for you, prepared the day you were created. I created you as a cherub With outstretched shielding wings; And you resided on God's holy mountain; You walked among stones of fire.

You were blameless in your ways, From the day you were created Until wrongdoing was found in you By your far-flung commerce. You were filled with lawlessness, and you sinned. So I have struck you down from the mountain of God. I have destroyed you, O' shielding cherub, from among the stones of fire."] Later interpretations of the fall, tell that Lucifer was upset, because God the Father, made Lucifer's brother, Jesual, the Son. From his head, he gave birth to Sin, and by copulating with her, fathered Death. He was then cast out of heaven. There are characters similar to Lucifer in other mythologies.

In Egypt, there is a serpent God, Satan, with his father of lightning, and who likewise fell to Earth. A Babylonian God, Zu, was also a lightning God, who fell as a fiery flying serpent. Lucifer: From Latin, Lux, Light, and Fero, to bear, - A Light Bearer. There is a name “Lucifuge” also employed occasionally, from Lux, Light, and Fugio, to fly from, - He who shuns the Light.
